Sandon JMI School, visit Hyde Hall Farm Hertfordshire for Educational day out....

Sandon JMI School Visit May 2011

Staff and pupils from Sandon JMI School year groups 3,4,5 & 6 attended Hyde Hall Farm Sandon, Nr Buntingford, Hertfordshire for an Educational Farming Day out.

This was a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn about their local environment and gain an insight into farming.

The day started with the children being introduced to the animals on the farm and watching them being fed. This was then followed by pond dipping and learning about different wildlife living in a pond.

Just before lunch the children explored the fields and were introduced to the different types of crops and their usage, they even found a pheasants egg on the way!

Finally, the children were very excited when they were allowed to sit on one of the tractors and learn about some of the machinery used on the farm.

We would like to thank the pupils and teachers for attending the Hyde Hall Farm Educational Farming Day, and we hope to see you again soon....
